At the ADAC technology center in Landsberg/Bavaria the third generation of SORTIMO in-vehicle equipment, SORTIMO Globelyst; passed live crash testing with flying colors.

An MB Vito 113 kg of Globelyst in-vehicle equipment and loaded with a further 300 kg was driven into a deformable ECE barrier at an impact speed of 50 km/h. The resulting deceleration of about 22 times the acceleration due to gravity is the equivalent of approximately 10 tons. The Sortimo system held fast. Although the vehicle fittings were distorted in the direction of travel – as had been expected – the entire load was safely held in place by SORTIMO Globelyst. According to experts, “there would have been no danger of injury to the passengers”. Once again this crash test has proven how really important it is that tools and materials stay securely in their allotted place.
