Sortimo and the subject of safety – a professional approach

At the TÜV center in Garching, near Munich, a crash-test with SORTIMO fittings in a VW T4 was performed as a sled test. For the test the equipment was loaded with a further 300 kg of tools and the vehicle was driven head-on into a barrier.

During the first phase of the crash test the tightly fitted Soboflex safety floor held fast because thanks to the floating installation slight upward movements were possible. Although the vehicle fittings were distorted in the direction of travel, there would have been no danger of injury to the driver, either from fittings or from unsecured tools.

All the loaded tools remained safely in place, horizontal braces did not deform and all unions and welding seams held fast.
