One of the more typical situations for commercially used vehicles:

The loading area of an estate car was loaded with a variety of materials, small parts and tools. Total weight of the load was 100 kg. At an impact speed of approx. 48 km/h the unsecured load of 100 kg meant it was subjected to peak forces of approximately 4 t on impact.

After 0.4 seconds the load reached the front part of the vehicle and the windshield. As crash-.test and picture both demonstrate, the rear seat was no barrier, it simply folded over under the impact. The dummy was hit in the head and hurt considerably by flying parts.
